Maxx’s Story

Success...
Maxx was found lying beside the highway... motionless!  When he was brought to Kane Humane he was found to be suffering from exhaustion, dehydration, and malnutrition.
Maxx was put into foster care with Kane Humane and given proper medical attention with lots of love and care. We are pleased to say he made a full recovery and is healthy as a horse these days!
Now it appears that Maxx has the chance to pay his rescue forward, going from a “rescued dog” to a “rescue dog!”
Maxx has been signed over to Best Friends Animal Society where he is now being fostered by Sherry Woodard, the head trainer and lead in the new Search and Service program at Best Friends.
Dogs that graduate from the program will live in homes with families that can provide a happy and social environment, just as expected with any adopted animal. The only difference will be that Maxx will be able to participate in search and rescue and saving lives when the call arises! A perfect new beginning for a dog like Maxx, a McNabb Border Collie who loves to keep busy!
We’ll miss you Maxx and wish you the best of luck in your life’s journey! Stop by any time to say hello, but let’s keep it purely for social reasons, OK? Go get ‘em boy!
The Kane Humane Project is an all-volunteer organization.
