Hazel’s Story

Success...
Hazel was found in Orderville by a very nice person who took her in and nursed her back to health. She was very tired, lonely, and very thin. As you can see, she responded very well to the love, attention and care provided by this nice person, Ann.  Ann then contacted Kane Humane to see if we could foster her.
We didn't have a foster family available but were able to contact Susan at Animal Friends Rescue Project in San Jose California and they agreed to find her a foster if we could get Hazel to California.
As luck would have it, Whitney, a trainer at Best Friends Dogtown, was leaving for California in a few days and could bring Hazel with her.  Just five days before Christmas, the connection was made between Whitney and Susan and Hazel went into one of Animal Friends Rescue Project's foster home where her name was changed to "Taffy".
Less than a month in foster care and Hazel, aka Taffy, is now named SIERRA and is enjoying the good life in California with her new family, Erin and Elliot.
We thank all those involved in this rescue of a Hazel, aka Taffy, aka Sierra and were glad to have been a big part of it!
We at Kane Humane are happy to have been able to help you along in your journey Sierra and wish you the best with your new life!
The Kane Humane Project is an all-volunteer organization.
