Success...
On January 26th, 2009 a person in Kanab found a dog alongside the highway in the middle of nowhere.  The dog stayed with them for about two weeks but their Landlord said they couldn't keep him, so they called Kane Humane Project.

We told him we would pick the dog up the next day and put him in foster care.  Later that evening we received a call from the same person saying that the dog had gotten out and had been picked up by Kanab Animal Control.

We contacted animal control and arranged to pick up the dog from the animal control shelter the next morning.  The new animal control officer in Kanab is named Dustin, thus the name for the puppy.  Dustin was placed in foster care.

Dustin spent several weeks with a foster, Angie, and went on play dates with Angie’s friends while she went to work. One of Angie’s friends that was taking him on play dates just fell in love with Dustin and has adopted him.

Kane Humane is pleased to have been able to help Dustin along his journey in life. We would not be able to accomplish these loving deeds if it was not for Kane Humane’s volunteers and Foster home providers. Thank you all. If you can help foster an animal or volunteer, please contact us so we can continue to post great stories like this one!

The Kane Humane Project is an all-volunteer organization.
